Last night, I was privileged to twist balloons for the 6Th birthday of a little girl I had met 2 years ago.
I was making balloons in a restaurant and had a break in activity so I made a lion mask for practice. Just as I finished it, the door behind me opened and I turned to see a small girl with big eyes, a shy smile and a head as bald as my own. ...I knew then whom I had made the lion mask.
Tori, the beautiful child, loved it, and I gave her mom a card with the hope that I'd be able to bring some smiles to the family and Tori in the future.
An email was received last week asking if I were free for a birthday on the 24Th of this month. ...I was overcome.
The future was 1/24/09. Tori has completed a grueling series of chemo/radiation therapy for the last couple of years or more and is now healthy. This made it an even more joyous occasion.
I'll try and post some photos of the event as soon as I can ask Patrica, Tori's Mom if she'll email me some.
Peace, Joy and Hope!
