Riding the storm out

We had a great ride this afternoon, Lucy and I that is. We went to our usual place, Camp Ben McColough out by the Salt Lick on 1826. Polished the Shadow and then had to ride. There's a cold front mooving in this evening according to the weather watchers, so I wanted to have a ride, fill the tank and come home. ...Mission accomplished.
I did manage to leave my phone home, and realized how much I depend on it. It's a new Instinct and it has all the bells and whistles, including weather radar and GPS. Both can be very handy while on the Motorcycle.
The Grove is blowing and swaying with the wind. Almost all the leaves are gone now so we can see the destruction in the neighborhood. The monstrosities of condos for people who don't know anything about where they are is just dumb in my opinion. With the economy taking a nose-dive, how can they keep building housing for people without jobs? Expensive housing too!
Insanity everywhere, and I'm not going to buy into any of it. My bills are doable cause I don't owe anything on my truck, RV, or Motorcycle, but I feel for those up to here in debt.
Again, how can they keep building extravagant housing while average folks are being foreclosed on?
I'll close for now, hoping the Grove can remain the last bastion of affordable housing in S. Austin and a reminder of the beauty of nature.
Peace,
Jim
