I hate to think that I'm the only one who sees that this whole bail-out scheme the govt. put together for the banks is much different than the one for the Automakers. Another smoke screen for the culprits in the current adminestration I believe.
I could be wrong, but it seems like the banks were give billions carte-blanc. No accounting for who got what, how much and when. The bankers seem offended when questiond about what they did with the taxpayers money. Not once, but twice. ..pretty strange, especially since they now won't loan any of it out to people who are trying to keep afloat.
The bankers weren't even asked how the money would be used, and now we have the Citi Bank Feista Bowl. Just how can a bankrup bank sponsor a bowl game? It's not cheap! Shouldn't it be called the Taxpayerz Bowl and everyone gets in free?
Back to the Automakers. They were rightly critized for flying to Washington in corporate jets, only to return, has in hand, and be grilled mercilessly by the congressional committee. A plan for a loan w/ lots of oversight and penalties was finally produced, only to fly like a wounded duck (lame duck, what's the dif?).
I'm not saying the Automakers don't deserve everything they were subjected to, but it seems so hypocritical and a double-standard kind of deal.
I wonder, is there such a thing as corporate discrimination?
Strange things lurk in the hearts and minds of men and women who have access to money and power. ... in my opinion.
Peace,and balance.
That's all for now folks.
